Auburn-DeKalb Executive Airport

✈️ Meet the Team: Scotty Hepler, FBO Manager!

Ever wonder what it takes to keep an airport running smoothly behind the scenes? Meet Scotty Hepler, FBO Manager at Auburn-DeKalb Executive Airport!

Scotty has been with Sweet Aviation for 11 years and has served as FBO Manager for the past four. His love for aviation began in 1986, when he took his first training flight while attending Air Traffic Control technical school after joining the Air National Guard at 18. Nearly 40 years later, that passion is still going strong!

So, what does a typical day look like? From fuel quality checks and preparing aircraft for departure to coordinating ground power, providing oxygen and lavatory services, and helping travelers with everything from baggage to hotel recommendations, Scotty keeps things moving. And that’s just the beginning!

One thing you might not realize? Fuel quality is checked every single day. Scotty and the team inspect fuel and equipment to help ensure every aircraft receives the highest-quality fuel possible.

When asked what makes Auburn-DeKalb special, his answer says it all: “It’s home!” He loves the people, the customers, the community, and the opportunity to watch planes in the air every day.

And when it comes to memorable aircraft, Scotty has quite the list, including the C-5 Galaxy, F-16 fighter, Global 7000, Cobra helicopter, and even a MiG fighter!

We’re grateful to have dedicated aviation professionals like Scotty helping make Auburn-DeKalb Executive Airport a special place to work, visit, and fly.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Scairport happen and to everyone who attended. We are already thinking of ways to make the event bigger and better next year.

There are bounce houses for the youngsters too!!

We really enjoyed bringing our grand daughter for the trick and treat. She loved the bounce houses as well as watching a plane land while we were there. We drive past the airport often and it is great to see on the other side of the fence.

You should make this an event, so we may see it in advance more since it would be very popular.

Planning to come

Sorry for the stupid question but I've never been there. Where is the entrance to use?

What time?

Scairport is still on today even if the fog doesn’t go away. We have a plan B. 😉
